Meeting the Needs of Children and Families
Children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions often have complex needs that require care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This can put enormous pressure on families, caregivers and siblings.
Through the work of Children’s Project on Palliative/Hospice Services (ChiPPS), NHPCO’s Pediatric Advisory Council, we are committed to making the best-known practices in pediatric palliative and hospice care more widely available to care providers and increasing the availability of state-of-the-art services to families. Funding through the National Hospice Foundation (NHF) for national pediatric initiatives has played and continues to play a vital role in shaping the entire pediatric palliative care and hospice field.
Together we are building capacity by identifying, developing and disseminating practical strategies that advance care for children and families coping with life-threatening conditions, dying and bereavement.
